Flavor Origin

If the delight of a stroopwafel has yet to grace your taste buds, envision two crunchy, cinnamonny graham cracker-flavored waffles held together with gooey Dutch caramel. Mouthwatering, right?

Place it on a bagel or piece of toast, scoop it with crisp apple slices, or, our favorite, savor it by the spoonful as a late-night treat before bed.

Our two exceptional suppliers, both Dutch immigrants, founded their family businesses after they could not find any quality stroop here in the US. As one put it, the only thing on the market was, “imported Dutch waffles made overseas many months ago using a stroopwafel recipe optimized not for taste, but for a long shelf life.” Their waffles, just like our peanut butter, is made from scratch without any artificial preservatives, colors, flavorings, or high fructose corn syrup.

How It Fits Into Our Story

During the fall of 2022, our founder embarked on an adventure to visit his Dutch friend in the Netherlands. They toured around the countryside by train and by bike, as the Dutch do, when they stumbled upon a small corner store – bet you thought we’d say windmill there, didn’t ya – tucked away on a tranquil cobblestone street. Instead of traditional Dutch clogs or rounds of Gouda cheese, the store's windows were filled with a tantalizing display of over 20 different types of peanut butter. It was a "kid in a candy shop" moment, seeing everything from cookies and cream to fried onion and garlic. They bombarded the poor lady working the store that day with question after question, sampling each and every one.

As a homage to the nation that inspired the Peanut Butter Passport concept, that enchanting store, and to selfishly satisfy my Stroopwafel craving, we thought there would be no better flavor to succeed our beloved US-Honey Roasted than Netherlands – Stroopwafel.
