Our Story
About Us:
At Peanut Butter Passport, we use simple ingredients to create global flavors. Designed to take our customers on a beautiful journey through time and taste, each one of our peanut butter recipes reflects the unique culture and flavor profiles of its country of origin. The rich cacao and agave of Mexico; the sweet stroopwafel of the Netherlands; the beloved honey of America and more— all deliciously captured in each jar of creamy goodness with incredible backstories to match.
Our ultimate goal is to work with suppliers around the globe that can provide real, local ingredients, share their stories, and take customers on a journey in every bite.
Our Purpose:
Make boatloads of money, obviously!
Surprisingly, it’s actually deeper than that. It’s clichéd at this point, but traveling the world truly does broaden your perspective, and food has an incredible power to both bring people together and transport you. And in a world that can feel so divided, what better vehicle than sticky, creamy, delicious peanut butter to help bring us together, share our stories, and smooth out any differences.
Spreading your horizons is more than an incredibly clever motto; it’s a call to action. To start a journey, shift your perspective, and try something new (our peanut butter is a great place to start).
We hope that traveling the globe— whether literally or through the stories we share— helps show that no matter the culture, language, time, or place, we are more alike than not.
Because in this world, like peanut butter and the top of your mouth, we’re all stuck together. Why not make the experience the best it can be?
Founder:
Jared Rejsek, our CEO, CFO, CTO, CSO, CCO, consultant, jack of all trades, master of peanut butter, and writer of this section, is me – the humble founder.
The son and nephew of small business owners, I’ve always had the desire to start my own venture. In junior high, I started a lemonade stand – like most do – before expanding into the driveway car wash and leaf raking businesses. After these dried up due to the '08 financial crisis and lack of VC funding, I decided to embark on the ‘traditional’ route of high school and college.
I had a layover in big consulting right out of college, helping corporate giants to get .001% better, but my heart yearned to the world of small business. The issue was, I didn’t have an idea that truly excited me… However, inspiration struck in 2021 when I stumbled upon a little Dutch corner store filled floor to ceiling with exotic flavors of peanut butter while visiting a friend in the Netherlands. It was then that Peanut Butter Passport was born.
So now, here I am, in a few hundred square feet of apartment, bootstrapping my dream, creating peanut butter that is globally inspired and locally perspired.
I’m truly humbled by and grateful to everyone that’s helped me to get to this point, and I can assure you, we’re just getting started. I’m beyond excited to share this journey with you!
